Design Services Terms & Conditions

This policy outlines the terms and conditions associated with macdaddy P/L performing the role of design consultants in accordance with the services described in your particular quotation / proposal.

Reimbursement will be required for all expenses associated with and reasonably incurred by macdaddy P/L in connection with your project. Reimbursement will be required for all other expenses reasonably and properly incurred in connection with the design services provided including but not limited to

  • All couriers will be charged in addition to this quotation, unless stated otherwise.
  • Any specialist presentation material required for communication with the client.
  • Multiple copies of schedules, drawings, manuals, reports, plans, computer disks.

Additional conditions are as follows:

  • Prices quoted are valid for 30 days only from date of quote.
  • If this quotation has been calculated without sighting the job required and all information required to calculate the quote has not been supplied we reserve the right to modify it.
  • All quoted prices will incur a 10% GST levy.
  • 50% deposit is required for all works carried out by macdaddy P/L. Terms of completion of payments are 14 days net from date of invoice.  The remaining project payments will be billed in stages or as set out below in the Appointment of fees.section

Copyright

macdaddy P/L owns the copyright of any work produced on the client’s behalf, including all proposals, artwork and visuals whilst the project is being developed.  Any use of this work by the client or by others through the client must be obtained under a license.  License fees may apply.

Electronic copies of drawings and artwork

If the client requires a copy of a file on CD or disk, the request must be made in writing with specifications including file format (PDF, EPS, TIF, JPG).  Each additional issue of electronic artwork will be subject to a fee of $55.00 inc. GST.

Additional work

macdaddy P/L reserves the right to charge additional fees and expenses for all tasks requested and performed which fall outside the limitations specified in a particular proposal. The recovery of fees and expenses shall not be dependent on the existence of written instructions.

Special consultants and service providers

Specialists’ services and special expertise may be required in areas such as illustrators and photographers. Charges for such services will contain a management fee of 15%.

Consultancy

macdaddy P/L use adobe programs including Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. If the client wishes to update files in-house it is their responsibility to acquire the programs in which the artwork was created. 

If the client requires consultancy or training in association with the artwork, these are services available in addition to the provided quote.  Similarly, if a client requires a file in a file-type or version other than what macdaddy P/L would usually supply (such as EPS, PDF or TIF) additional charges may apply.

Photography

It is assumed that photography will be supplied by the client unless otherwise specified.  If a job requires images, macdaddy P/L can source these from on of the online image libraries we regularly subscribe to.  A fee for these images will be negotiated between the client and macdaddy P/L once appropriate images have been selected for the job.  An image searching fee of $75/hour may apply for projects requiring image searching time beyond the regular scope of the project.

Suspension of service

Automatic suspension of service will apply when invoiced payment terms have been exceeded. All services on the current project will not resume until invoices outside the agreed payment terms have been paid.

Web design

Web Site hosting, domain name registration, Flash animation, advertising for websites, and programming work such as log-in, search, and calculator facilities are not included in the price indicated for website design and build, but are available as additional extras.

Amendments

Two sets of changes to the project (or an amount otherwise agreed upon between macdaddy P/L and the client) have been factored into the quoted price provided by macdaddy P/L. The quoted prices do not include client changes to finished art or film and proof. All client changes to finished art or film and proof will be charged separately and in addition to this quotation. If this quotation has been calculated without sighting the job required and all information required to calculate the quote has not been supplied we reserve the right to modify it.

Validity of quote

Prices quoted are valid for 30 days only from date of quote. Prices are subject to change.

macdaddy P/L takes precautions to ensure project costs fall within quoted estimates, and will endeavour to keep the client informed about any extensive changes of fees, which may be included in the final invoice.
